The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners have recently awarded a contract to Walsh & Kelly, Inc. for the reconstruction of Pierce Road from S.R. 331 to Ash Road.
The proposed work to be completed may include, but is not limited to: milling roadway, placing road fabric, asphalt paving, placing aggregate shoulders, and pavement markings.
The anticipated construction start date is June 12, 2017 and all work shall be completed by August 11, 2017. Work hours may commence at sunrise and extend until sunset. No work is currently scheduled on nights, weekends or holidays. The roadway will be constructed in three phases with road closures and detours for each phase. Phase 1: S.R. 331 to Elm Road, Phase 2: Elm Road to Cedar Road, and Phase 3: Cedar Road to Ash Road. Residents and emergency responders will have continued access during construction. All other traffic shall utilize the posted detour routes.
